Each March the Florida-based American Disabilities Foundation hosts an event in Boca Raton to brighten the lives of 5,000 guests with physical and/or intellectual challenges at the largest event of its kind in America.
Run by 400 volunteers, the annual Boating & Beach Bash for People with Disabilities provides an experience that celebrates diversity, embraces inclusion, awakens possibilities and showcases people’s abilities, not their disabilities.
Now in its 10th year, the Bash provides guests with an array of activities designed to encourage and maximize wellness, self-confidence and joy. From wheelchair dancing to yoga and surfing, activities are tailored to meet the unique special needs of children, adults, wounded warriors and caregivers. Most popular are rides aboard any of 20 private yachts, an all-day concert and enjoying a picnic under the trees.
Additionally there are 450 feet of tented exhibits, including volunteer medical professionals to discuss health concerns and provide information.
The goal of the Bash is for our guests to live better, longer, more productive lives – a powerful message we reinforce year after year.
