Caridad Center’s mission is to upgrade the health, education, and living standards of poor, underserved children and families in Palm Beach County. Our vision is to eliminate the cycle of poverty within the families we serve.
Caridad's primary goals are to improve patients' health with free access to medical, dental and specialty care (Caridad Health Clinic); to foster self-sufficiency by creating, facilitating, and implementing health education and prevention programs and activities (Caridad Prevention, Education and Treatment Program, P.E.T.); to impact the educational outcomes of low-income students living in homes where English is not the primary language by providing after school support and enrichment (“La Escuelita” After School Program, girl scouts troop, scholarships, etc.); and to promote and preserve family stability during crisis, (e.g. emergency housing, food, utilities) and throughout the year (social services, community health events). Culturally and linguistically competent services are provided by our team of 64 employees and 600+ volunteers that include physicians, dentists, medical and dental assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, teachers and tutors, dental hygienists, pharmacists, and interpreters.
