ChildNet's mission is to protect abused, abandoned and neglected children in the communities we serve.
ChildNet is the non-profit, Community-Based Care (CBC) lead agency that manages the child welfare system in Palm Beach County. ChildNet had been a CBC lead agency since 2002 in Broward County when, in October 2012, the Florida Department of Children & Families (DCF) asked it to assume the same role in Palm Beach County via an emergency procurement. ChildNet subsequently in July 2014, following a competitive procurement process, entered into a new five-year contract with the option of a five-year renewal. As the CBC lead agency, ChildNet subcontracts with a network of 27 child welfare service providers that offer dependency case management, family preservation, foster and group care, adoption and independent living services to more than 1,500 Palm Beach County children, young adults and their caregivers. ChildNet also manages the access and purchase of behavioral health and other social services for these clients from a comprehensive network of public and private service providers and practitioners.
