Martin Luther King Coordinating Committee’s Mission is to provide activities and services of outreach, education and assistance to our poverty-stricken neighborhood and to expand our youth's services. The services provide multicultural activities and summer peace camp that enable our youth to learn more about: the life of Dr. King and his legacy as a civil rights icon; the power of nonviolence, diversity, and respect; the need to stay healthy and well; and the commitment to give back to our community and to develop their dreams into goals to reach. In addition, we are proud to hold our 37th MLKCC Scholarship Breakfast to honor Dr. King in January 2018 and are proud of our Dr. Martin Luther King Landmark Memorial Park, at 2200 No. Flagler Dr., West Palm Beach on the intracoastal. The park opened in 2004 and is on the Florida Black Heritage Historical Register, adding to the cultural fabric of Palm Beach County. We ask that you please visit this historic site and memorial to Dr. King. The park contains numerous plaques and photos commemorating Dr. King's life, family and speeches, interspersed with highlights of the civil rights movement. The highlight is Dr. King’s bronze statue against a granite wall with cascading waterfall, and the display of flags, representing areas of great influence in Dr. King's life, waving over the intracoastal.
